BATTY (Scarlett)
BATTY’s cute face is drawn from the adorably-weird Pig-Face Bat. This bat species lives in limestone caves along rivers in Southeast Asia. The texture is achieved by using the laser cutter to engrave hand-drawn patterns into the material.
BATTY measures in at 12” x 12” x 0.5” and is ready-to-hang.
Each piece starts out as an idea, then a vector drawing. Using a CNC laser cutter, we cut dozens of individual parts from birch plywood and cast acrylic plastic. The parts are then sanded, painted, and assembled by hand. All BATTY variations have unique color ways and combinations of materials. No two artworks are the same.
